D300vs Plus enclosure

Post by Firefly » Fri Jan 05, 2018 5:04 pm

D300vs Plus enclosure in planning stage at this time.

figured out the wheels on the carriage won't hit a panel when laid flat against the top and bottom rails.
got some experimenting to do, also looking at a heat shield with about 1 cm space under the heatbed.

Looks great. Make sure to use non-flamable or similar components. Heat shield is OK under heatbed but I would also add active cooling over Duet.

The wheels won't hit but the hot end will hit the sides of plexi/glass/whatever you are using.

By enclosing it you will effectively create a smaller print bed area as the delta arms cannot extend to their fullest.

I am getting back into this project, I happened to have a couple big sheets of thin chloroplast for back sides.
I cut one side of flute where I want it to bend, and able to wrap around the back in one piece.
I made this clips that fit in the upper extrusion of bottom frame for the chloroplast to sit in like a grove, not sure how I will hold the top yet, blue tape for now  also leaving it open below for Duet to get air flow.

as for print head hitting it, If I ever print that big, it can easily be removed, would be PLA printing only in that case.

For the front I have clear poly carbonate, trying to decide if want to cut it in half so its like a barn door or one door, I also need to work around the Panel Vue.

Thanks for the update... looking forward to seeing your final enclosure. Got to love coroplast. That stuff is so easy to work with!
