PEI thickness and general question

Post by abecker » Sun Aug 06, 2017 6:57 pm

I saw on FB that Ultibots is between distributors for PEI sheets and they recommend CS Hyde. i have gotten a sheet from them before and really liked it. Only question I have is if there is a difference between the thickness of the PEI sheets when it comes to 3D printing. Also, I saw in the build guide it mentions putting a 45 degree bevel on the edges, and I was wondering what that assists with. My guess would be to prevent something from causing it to peel, but just wondering.

Personally, I like 10 mil or 20 mil. It will allow you to resurface several times with uniform sanding. Sanding the edge keeps it from separating if you use the heat bed edge clamps.
