Just posting for more visibility:
If your printer extruder stops mid-print but otherwise the printer continues to ghost print and it's not clogging or a gcode issue, it could be static build up on the extruder motor. The fix is grounding the body. I went ahead and grounded the neg. supply of the DC power supply while I was at.
