Delta Arm Calibration for Positional Tolerance

... Michael Hackney post on the subject (http://www.sublimelayers.com/2018/03/musing-how-to-print-accurate-parts.html) only talks about the global rod dimension and an X-Y scale factor. My issue is tower X and Z are close to the same required distance, but Y needs to be slightly longer to balance the ...

Re: eSteps/mm

Changing the Esteps adjusts how much the extruder extrudes. If you are having issues with XY dimensions I recommend http://www.sublimelayers.com/2018/03/musing-how-to-print-accurate-parts.html particularly step 9. Adjusting arm length changes the XY dimensions. Also look ...

Re: Arm Length

... 150. I also threw in pegs spaced so that from the center peg to the outside of the next peg was 25, 50 and 75mm. When I printed the cross, every dimension was off by .2 or so. I checked steps/mm with a 50mm stair case and that seemed good. And since the error didn't change with distance from ...

Re: Prints not concentric.

2 things are going on here... Overall print dimension is too large and X axis is oversized needing work. Overall dimension: From https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1439048 On a delta robot, the scaling is directly influenced by the arm length setting ...

Re: X axis dimension off - adjusting steps per mm/dimensionality

Attached is the latest hex-cal test STL and gcode file. As discussed please print them 3x so we can isolate each tower/arm combination.

Re: X axis dimension off - adjusting steps per mm/dimensionality

Ultibots - thanks for the message. I'm going to call in right around 9am. In the meantime, I'm going to take pictures of the build as well as post a copy of the gcode generated for the calb cube. Not sure what I'm missing here. Thanks again for the support.

Re: X axis dimension off - adjusting steps per mm/dimensionality

Update - So I have the printer all back together - assembled as perfectly as I'm going to get and the issue persists. I just printed a calb cube and I'm measuring the following: x=20.4 y=20.1 z=19.6 As time permits, I'm going to attempt to manually calibrate. A big selling point to this printer is t...

Re: X axis dimension off - adjusting steps per mm/dimensionality

Mike - I received the effector yesterday morning and installed it right away. I'm sorry to say it has not resolved the issue. After verifying, I've taken the machine out to our certified-flat granite table and have started taking the machine apart. I have the base off and - when I pressed on the x a...
