Re: Prints perfect at 200 micron, insane stringing at 100 micron

So I wanted to come back and let everyone know, 100mm/s is NOT a good idea. I've had 2 large prints fail because 100mm/s is grinding up my filament and then there's nothing for the feed wheel to grip. I'm honestly starting to give up against stringing.

Re: Prints perfect at 200 micron, insane stringing at 100 micron

I have heard that the optimal print height is 1/2 the size of your nozzle.

I ended up turning my retraction all the way up to 100 mm/s and now it's much less stringy, with 1.5 mm of retraction. Is this unheard of for the Titan Aero? Or are these safe-ish numbers.

Re: Microextruder assembly + e3d V6

Hey sorry, I might actually be holding on to my e3d V6 now, planning on building a CoreXY and I need a hot end. Sorry for the late reply!

Prints perfect at 200 micron, insane stringing at 100 micron

First, photos of what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/TeGF2 So I finally got my settings dialed in happily for 200 micron print height with the Titan Aero and now I'm trying to tackle 100 micron height, but no matter what I change, I get an insane amount of stringing. Here's all the things I've tried: P...

Microextruder assembly + e3d V6

Hi everyone! Upgraded to the Titan Aero and I have my old extruder assembly with e3d V6 that I don't need anymore. If anyone wants a spare, or wants it for a custom build, let me know! It will come with the new heater cartridge and thermistor from my Titan Aero, since I re-used my old ones.

Titan Aero plastic feed gear force

Hey everyone, I'm this close to finishing my Titan Aero rebuild, but just have a quick question before I put it all back together. I tightened the assembly when I closed the extruder so that there's no wobble/free movement on the acetal plastic gear, but I find that the plastic gear is really hard t...

Re: How to reduce super fine stringing?

Hi everyone, and Boris in particular!

I've been trying to reduce the same micro strings, but I'm in an odd situation where if I don't use a decent sized Z Hop, the parts I print tend to knock the magball arms off.

Does anyone have extruder settings for a large Z hop? Thanks!

Re: Gcode for prime line not working after upgrading to 1.19

It depends on where the first point of the first layer is. Basically when it goes from end of prime line -> lift up by 1mm (my z-hop height) -> first point of first layer, it will dip down and hit the build plate on that second move. Today I actually had it hit the bed so bad that it caused one of t...

Re: Upgrading to Titan Aero, quick question

Did the D300VS ever come with a 12V PSU? I'm pretty sure mine came with a 24v supply, but is there an easy way to check? Probably a label on the PSU itself?

Upgrading to Titan Aero, quick question

Hey guys,

This is going to be a short and dumb question, but I'm about to order a Titan Aero. I want the 24v version right?

Also, could I just re-use my current heater cartridge and thermistor? Thanks!
