Re: Got angled prints - Check your MagBalls...

Just realized that one of my magballs was about a mm or 2 loose after taking a look at the printer after reading this post. My first print after tightening it up turned out great, very smooth lines. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Printing TPU...

It seems to be melting fine with the idler removed. I turned down the heat even more, down to 190, and it is printing much better. Not perfect, but it's coming out a lot smoother than it was before. Here is an image showing my first print at 225 and 190. Next I will also try varying the idler pressu...

Re: Printing TPU...

I tightened the idler and turned down the temperature because the Hatchbox TPU has a lower recommended temp than the Ultibots TPU. After turning down the temperature the filament is coming out better than it was before but not perfectly, it's still kind of spotty. Listening closely it sounds like th...

Re: Printing TPU...

I bought a roll of Hatchbox red TPU and am attempting to print with TPU for the first time. I'm using the settings as suggested in this post, but I'm not getting very good results. The filament comes out well for a few mm of the lines, but then starts coming out very inconsistently and blobby. http:...

Re: Filament sometimes not coming out smoothly

Awesome. I made sure the hotend was proper seated, cut the PTFE tube and made sure everything was solid. This seems to have done the trick, as my first test print was a complete success. Thanks Michael and Brad for replying and helping me out. I think we can mark this one as solved, but I will be do...

Re: Filament sometimes not coming out smoothly

Do you think it would be a good idea to sand the top and bottom of the idler to make it more loose fitting so the tensioning screws have more effect?

Re: Improving thermistor contact

This worked great for me. I was kind of worried that the thermistor wasn't making good contact with the bed, and when I took the temperature of the bed it was reaching 85-90c when I had it set to 70c. After doing this it's reading almost exactly 70c across the bed. Thanks.

Re: Filament sometimes not coming out smoothly

Thanks for the reply, I will turn up the heat first and see if that makes a difference. Here is another video with a close up of the extruder, sorry for the crappy quality. https://streamable.com/d82az It looks like the drive gear is turning fine but the bearing on the right seems to not be spinning...

[Solved] Filament sometimes not coming out smoothly

Sorry about the title, but didn't really know how to explain it. Basically, I seem to be having issues with the filament coming out in random amounts, and this shows up whether I am printing a model or just sending the extrude command. In addition, the filament seems a lot stringier now when using i...
