Re: Which slicer are people using

Sorry to drag up an ancient thread, but I've sorted out my retraction blobs without having to resort to negative extra restart values. The Firmware retractions worked well, but the printer would come to a full stop, retract, move, stop, prime, and then start printing again. Very rough. Slic3r Prusa ...

Re: Prints not concentric.

Expanding on from your facebook post. I'm genuinely baffled at how the towers could be out of parallel by 5-10mm, or how your bed could be so out of level that you would have to impart that much tilt to make a tower orthogonal to it. The build instructions Michael has made up should produce a machin...

Re: Prints not concentric.

There's a good run through on checking the build accuracy of a delta on the Duet site (https://duet3d.com/wiki/Calibrating_a_delta_printer). Brad linked to my post where I had similar issues (Check your arm lengths). Obviously I had issues with the construction of the prototype arms I was using, but...

Re: Trinamic Stepper Drivers for Azteeg

I just started my first print. The lack of noise is a bit unnerving, kind of like when an electric car accelerates away from you. The extruder seems perfectly happy with StealthChop enabled. You should throw a set of these drivers into the 250 upgrade kit, it's an easy, cheap, significant upgrade.

Re: Trinamic Stepper Drivers for Azteeg

I wish it was a more visually exciting upgrade, unfortunately it looks exactly the same. Even the heat-sinks are identical to the SD5984's. The real fun is in the data sheet of the drivers.

Re: Trinamic Stepper Drivers for Azteeg

These were in my mailbox the other day and I've just installed them. They are a drop in replacement, leaving the jumpers alone gives you the same micro-stepping settings with "StealthChop" on each driver. I'm not sure StealthChop is a good idea on the extruder driver, but we'll see, I may end up put...

Trinamic Stepper Drivers for Azteeg

If, like me, you've been craving silent stepper drivers but haven't wanted move to the Duet Wi-Fi there is a solution : This video has some information about the Trinamic drivers, the most interesting to me is the ability to detect a motor being blocked. The YouTuber uses this to do homing without l...

Check your arm lengths

I recently went from magball joints to the Trick Laser arms and I am very happy with the new system. I had done the usual calibration (G32, and G31 in Smoothieware) and was printing happily. Then I had to print a part that was sensitive to size and found that my printer was making things about 1mm p...

Pen Holder

I'm kind of interested in making a pen holder for my printer so that I can do plotting (think AxiDraw). Before I go re-designing the wheel, has anyone done this for our printers?

Re: PG35L cooling - reduce fan noise

So far it's been working perfectly. The reduced fan noise is a welcome change.
