Re: Default E-Steps

For anyone coming in with a similar issue to Guy's (updating the e-steps doesn't seem to do anything), make sure that you're using a full integer number, not one with any decimal places. It looks like that ended up being the source of his issue.

Re: Extruder Wiring and Extensions?

If it makes you feel better, extending your cables was not a bad idea. Mine aren't extended, and there's substantially less leeway than would be ideal in my opinion. If the shortest cables were 3" longer, I'd be much happier with my build!

Default E-Steps

Quick question: I've been working to calibrate my e-steps, and noticed that the value given in the D300VS Plus firmware on the git (for latest 171016 release) is M92 E700 Looking at E3D's webpage, they mathematically come to a value of 837. (https://wiki.e3d-online.com/Titan_Aero#Extruder) In my exp...

Re: over-powered message.

For those looking at this thread in the future, I found this post to be helpful: https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=3610 It looks like the best way to dial things back would be to decrease the PWM value. This would help in the case of your thermistor coming undone, but probably wouldn't help...

Re: over-powered message.

Is it possible (or advisable) to dial back the power supplied to the hot end, in order to address this warning message (and presumably make the printer a little safer)?

Re: over-powered message.

I just logged in to ask the same question, nice to find that someone else is having the same issue at the same time. Attaching an image of the Panel Due output.

Re: Layers get bad & extruder clicking

An update; I was hearing hooves and thinking about zebras. I decided to run a benchy at current settings to get a temperature baseline on the extruder motor and the board. Wouldn't you know it, the whole thing was underextruding and clicking. Once I realized that, I did what I ought to have in the f...

Re: Layers get bad & extruder clicking

Apologies, I should have included printer information. I am using an aero, in a relatively newly built D300VS+. I'm game to give that a try. Do you know if the Duet self-protects (i.e. will the board stop or back things off if the chip is getting to hot, with that much current running through it). T...

Many words excluded from search

One of the main utilities of this forum is that information is able to easily searched and referenced, unlike other venues like Reddit and Facebook. However, there are a ton of important search terms that are ignored because they are too common. Try, for example, "extruder", or "fan" which get ignor...
