We're back

Hello all,

The forums were down temporarily due to a server move. Unfortunately the timing was longer than necessary, my apologies.

Things will be stable and boring from here on out.

Re: Counterspam measures

p.s. The custom field wouldn't act as a question that needed a correct answer, just an additional piece of information specific to users of the forum that is necessary to fill out when registering. What 3D Printer do you run? and this field will appear besides the user as they post. This can be chan...

Re: Counterspam measures

Happy to call, it's been a heavy year so this and 3D Printing sadly haven't had the attention they truly deserve... Doing the custom field is akin to the question/answer situation. You're forcing your users to fill in a section that bots don't have an answer for. With the Q&A they still know there's...

Re: Counterspam measures

Hey, I've learned in the mean time that having a 'custom field' that must be filled out during registration can go a long way to stopping the bots too. So if you can think of a question, or an additional 'category' your users can define themselves by, this might help stop spam dead. I'm getting cons...

Counterspam measures

Hey bud,

Let's see how this goes for a week or so.

Re: Diagonal lines in prints

WOOOO got it fixed :D Or at least 95% https://imgur.com/KibBGNV The eccentric spacers made a massive difference! Also new belts but I'd be surprised if those contributed much if any. I ended up carefully drilling my existing carriages for the spacers and it worked out well. Thanks for all the help!...

Upgraded to SMTP

Hi,

I've made a gmail for Ultibots Forums. It allows a more guaranteed delivery of emails for account activations.

It's basically an SMTP server. If you'd like access or details of the account let me know and I'll forward them via e-mail.

Regardles, Grant is a D300VS owner and has been awesome by setting up this forum AND hosting it! Thx Brad. This forum so far will be just for you and I. If...
